I have a rich and wide range of experiences as a music teacher and performer. I have taught cello for 12 years - privately and also at a number of institutions such as Faith Lutheran College and Samford Valley Steiner School.
My professional career as a cellist has involved performing with various professional orchestras: Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Sinfonia, and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. I have also made numerous appearances as a concert soloist. As a part of the Queensland Youth Orchestra’s international tour, I performed Saint-Sean’s Cello Concerto in several concert halls in Germany and France.
I completed my undergraduate studies under the tutelage of Li Wei Qin whilst studying on full scholarship at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore. Having gained two Australian Music Examinations Board diplomas (AMEB) - A.Mus.A (Distinction), and L.Mus.A with (Award) - I am qualified to assist students in undertaking these exams, and have prepared many students towards these exams with great results. I am equally passionate about teaching as well as performance, receiving much satisfaction and fulfilment from enlightening and nurturing each student's musical development.
