Oliver is a passionate cellist, currently based in Melbourne. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of performing with some of Australia’s leading orchestras, including the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia, West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Oliver holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium, where he studied with David Lale and Meta Weiss. He furthered his training at the Australian National Academy of Music under the mentorship of Howard Penny. While at ANAM, Oliver won the Brett Dean Prize for best performance of an Australian work and the Chamber Music Competition in 2021 and 2022.

A passionate and dedicated teacher, Oliver tailors his cello lessons to meet the unique needs of each student, considering their age, personal goals, and learning style. With over a decade of experience, he has taught students ranging from young beginners to those at the Diploma level. Oliver’s students have achieved notable success in AMEB exams, Youth Orchestra auditions, school scholarship auditions, and local Eisteddfods. Oliver currently teaches from his home studio in Murrumbeena and holds a valid Working with Children Check. He has availability on Saturdays and Sundays in 2026, offering personalised instruction to help students reach their full potential on the cello.
