Oliver Walsh

With 25 years experience, I have taught students of all ages and skill levels. I specialise coaching cellists to attain successful entries into tertiary positions and orchestras, but I'll work with anyone who is serious to learn. I have a particular affinity repairing poor techniques no matter how embedded.

I have a performance diploma from the Victorian College of the Arts (Henry Wenig), AMEB Licentiate and a performance degree from the Conservatorium of Amsterdam. I studied with Jean Decroos (former Solo-Cellist Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra , Guarneri Trio, pupil of Paul Tortelier & Andre Navarra) for 5 years and have had master classes with Valter Despalj, Danielle Dechenne, Floris Mijnders, Daniel Esser, Olga Martinova, Natalia Gutman and Pieter Wispelwey.
I have also performed with all the major orchestras in the Netherlands, recorded for ABC Classic FM & 3MBS and appeared on all the television networks in Australia and the Netherlands. Popular music highlights include performing with Meatloaf and the Chieftains.
