Hi, I’m Olivia, a passionate violinist and current university student with over 11 years of playing experience. I’ve completed VCE Music and achieved AMEB Grade 8 with Honours. I’m now offering private violin lessons for beginner to intermediate students of all ages.
My lessons focus on building solid technique, developing confidence, and fostering a genuine love for music.

I primarily teach using the Suzuki violin method, a widely respected approach that focuses on learning music in a similar way to how we learn language—by listening, repeating, and gradually building skill through encouragement and consistency. This method places strong emphasis on ear training, posture, tone production, and musical expression, especially in the early stages.
Lessons will typically include:

• Playing by ear and developing listening skills
• Technique exercises (scales, bowing, finger placement)
• Learning pieces from the Suzuki repertoire
• Note reading and basic music theory (introduced gradually)

My teaching style is patient, positive, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I believe in making music enjoyable while also setting solid foundations that will support future progress.
