My approach to teaching the drums is simple—enable students to recognise what they're hearing, so they can quickly learn and play what they are listening to...their favourite music from their favourite artists. It's what keeps us engaged with music, especially when learning new skills on an instrument.

As a musician with a counselling degree, getting alongside students to empower them is something I not only enjoy, but see as essential to both effectively learning music and more importantly, living a purposeful, connected life. If you can learn to control your body and mind with the drums, you can do anything.

WHAT I OFFER:
Drum lessons for all ages and skill levels. We don't focus on grades, we just focus on learning and loving the drums, all while becoming familiar with the necessary grooves, fills and skills to be a great drummer.

What we aim for:
• Focus on excellent technique as a foundation
• Understand the essentials - basic times signatures and notation, grooves, keeping time and controlling volume
• Learn to recognise the sound of each part of the drum kit
• Easily learn songs by ear
• Practice that isn't boring - learn the songs you love!
• Implement the grooves, fills and techniques in songs to build your drummers toolkit and grow as a musician
