I like to tell people that learning an instrument is not just for people who want to be musicians. It is an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded people and simply develop your brain in a new and exciting way! I am in my second year of a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Melbourne, having completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and an Honours Degree in children's cancer research. During my previous degrees, I took music performance courses to further develop my own ability and to keep music alive as a means to break up a heavy academic work week. I am so glad that I had music alongside me every step of the way as a creative outlet so I'm here to share this gift with you and your loved ones! Whether you are just starting out on the flute or are doing diploma level music studies, I can offer insight and stylistic expertise for your playing to develop and to harness your musical ability.
I have also played with the Sydney Youth Orchestras and programs with the Australian Youth Orchestra. Most recently, I was the prinicipal flute player for the live televised Carols in the Domain event held by Woolworths. I have won solo flute competitions for my age ranges in NSW. I have also received an A+ consistently for my 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade AMEB exams, and received an encore nomination which is awarded to high achieving musicians in the NSW HSC. Additionally, I have been invited to play solo at the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Town Hall.
Please don't hesitate to reach out and discuss your future with the flute! I look forward to speaking with you soon.
