Georgia graduated with a Bachelor or Music in classical double bass performance from the University of Adelaide in 2016 and was the recipient of the Elder Conservatorium Mary Baker Scholarship. She is currently studying for Honours under Rob Nairn, ex faculty of the Julliard School of Music, New York.
Georgia first undertook the double bass at the age of six at St Andrew’s School under the tuition of Adelaide Symphony Orchestra player Jacky Chang. During this time Georgia participated in the various Adelaide Youth Orchestras starting with Adelaide Youth Strings and working her way through their 3 orchestras. Whilst studying at university she performed in the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, Wind Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. Georgia has successfully completed several AMEB and attended the Australian Youth Orchestra’s annual National Music Camp in 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017. In addition to this, Georgia has performed with local ensembles – the Adelaide Wind Orchestra, Burnside Symphony Orchestra, Unley Symphony Orchestra and the Graduate Singers.
Georgia has taught double bass at St Andrew’s School, Seymour College and Wilderness School and also has private student tuition. Her enthusiasm for double bass paired with her organisation and interactive methodology has seen her students excel in their performance, theory and examination endeavours. Georgia’s ethos is to provide quality teaching and genuine motivation to students of the double bass. At the same time, she continues herself to study and better her own experience as a performer.
