Raechel Suh is passionate about music pedagogy. She has held teaching positions at the Queensland Academy of Maths, Science, & Technology as Cello Tutor and Chamber Orchestra Director. She has also been invited to tutor at the Ascott Music Camp and Northside Honours Music Camp.
Raechel holds a BA in Cello Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. She has garnered top prizes in competitions was including First Prize in the 2017 Queensland Conservatorium Piatti Prize, Most Promising String Player and Finalist in the 2018 Australian Concerto & Vocal Competition, and semi-finalist in the 2017 Gisborne International Music Competition. In 2018, she made her concerto debut, performing Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Peter Luff.
Raechel Suh has performed as the principal cellist of the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and Australian Youth Orchestra programs. She has toured with The Australian Youth Orchestra performing in international venues including The Concertgebouw, The Sydney Opera House, and The Beijing National Centre for Performing Arts. In 2018, Raechel was selected as a fellow with the Melbourne and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras. Most recently, she was selected as a fellow at Music Academy of the West 2020.
