"It's a very ancient saying, but a true and honest thought,
That if you become a teacher, by your pupils you'll be taught"
from the film "The King and I"
When my Mother sat me down to watch this film as a boy I had no idea that these words would still be ringing in my ears 40 years later with a meaning that grows more and more profound with each passing year. Through teaching countless students over the past 20 years I have learnt so much about patience, dedication, the joy of music, fun, creativity and life in general. As a result, despite having played guitar for over 30 years now, I am more passionate about music than ever. Every student that has walked through my door has left an indelible mark on me which has enriched my life and made me the artist I am today. As a musician who is dedicated to constantly evolving and improving I feel I have the best job in the world.
I see the true purpose of my job as being to build relationships through the medium of music. I like to spend as much time as is necessary to get to know my students in order to know their musical goals. As everyone is different I feel it is important to get to know a student's learning style and find out what excites them about music. I love the process of helping someone follow their own musical path and hearing their own personality come through the instrument.
I would consider it a privilege to be a part of your musical journey, and would be grateful for you to be a part of mine.
