Oboe teacher, Piano accompanist, AMEB examiner

My approach is: friendly, enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated.

I will ask you what your goals are (leisure, AMEB exams, Scholarships, school bands/orchestras, auditions) and tailor each lesson to suit your needs so you can achieve your goals.

Being a pianist as well as an oboist, I will be able to play the piano accompaniment parts during the lesson which will help improve your listening and ensemble skills. If you are preparing for various solo recitals and auditions I will be able to rehearse your part with piano accompaniment during your lesson which will help give a more confident performance on the important day.

If you are transferring from another instrument, my experience teaching other wind instruments will help in making the transition easier as I can relate to each instrument and the differences in technique.

I am very confident at what I do, and I have been recognised as the most outstanding woodwind teacher in 2015 by the AMEB, receiving an AMEB Teachers award in the "Woodwind - Preliminary to Grade 6" category. In 2016, 2018 and 2021 I was also ranked as "Top 5 Woodwind teacher - Preliminary to Grade 6" by the AMEB.
