Violin Lessons

Having studied the violin from the age of four, I eventually furthered my music studies overseas and have played in several top orchestras, performing in many countries across Europe, Asia, South Africa and Australia. Currently, I play concerts with the London-based European Doctors’ Orchestra,the Berlin-based World Doctors’ Orchestra and the Australian Doctors Orchestra.

My approach to music teaching is holistic and based on proven European traditional methods - it includes a thorough grounding in technical development, music reading, essential theory and an understanding of the musical styles of different composers. I also include the history of music and significant events during the time of the composers which influenced their music so students understand styles and context.

I combine serious study with humour and confidence-building measures to bring out the best in every student without stress.
I also focus on proven smart practice methods as opposed to just routine hours, bearing in mind that the student has many other commitments too! Emphasis is on problem solving in the shortest time to achieve mastery.

Ensemble work, confidence building and the enjoymant of lessons are encouraged.

Lessons are available in either English or German.
