My name is Rosemarry, but please call me Rosie. I am currently 20 years old, and am a third year Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in the University of Melbourne. At the moment, I am studying under the tutelage of Nico Fleury (MSO Principal Horn) and Carla Blackwood.
My passion for classical music and music performance stems from the age of 7 when I began learning cello and piano. Soon after, I started learning the French horn, and have only developed my passion since then.
In 2015 at the age of 14, I received my AMusA in French Horn, receiving a High Distinction for the exam. Prior to this, I have also completed Grades 6 and 8 in Horn and Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 in Music Theory.
In recent years, I have been Principal Horn of the Melbourne Youth Orchestra and Australian New Goldberg Orchestra. I was also fortunate enough to be one of the Principal Horns for the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra this year as a first year.
In 2017, I completed my secondary studies at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, in which I scored a raw 50 (full marks) for VCE Music Investigation as a solo. In 2016, I received a raw 42 for Music Performance as a member of an ensemble. For both achievements, I was invited to attend VCAA’s Top Class Music.
Throughout my 5 years of teaching, I have truly developed an interest and passion for teaching young music enthusiasts, and would love to share my experiences and knowledge.
My students have received Honours for various Horn and Theory AMEB exams, and one student has successfully obtained a 75% scholarship to Haileybury 2021.
