Ross Dovey is a graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts and the University of Southern Queensland. He has been involved in music for over 40 years, as performer, educator, percussion repairer and mallet manufacturer.
Dovey performed with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for 12 years and has performed as a freelance drummer and percussionist for overseas artists, local bands and orchestras. In 1990, he moved to teaching full-time and for the last 20 years has taught percussion and multi instrumental music in Brisbane schools, until his recent retirement and divides his time between mallet manufacture and development, studio teaching and performing.
Ross has many years experience as a teacher and musician. His students range from beginner to advanced, and has prepared students for Trinity, AMEB and auditions for Tertiary Institutions and Army Bands.
