Ross Smith

Ross Smith is a seasoned professional musician and music teacher with numerous accolades, a story to tell, and a passion for rock n roll.

His 40+ year career as a performer has seen him tour across Australia and internationally for Queensland Theatre Company, Strut n Fret, La Boite Theatre, The Daredevil Opera Company, Expo 2000, and The Sit Down Comedy Club, and earned him awards for best bass player and best ensemble at the Queensland Rock Awards.

He believes in an easy-going, practical approach to playing, where a few well-applied techniques and plenty of feel will get the music sounding powerful and authentic. Always good for a laugh and a chinwag, his philosophy of teaching has always been one where comfort with oneself and the instrument will produce the best results.
