Dip Mus, B.Ed
With 30 years’ combined experience teaching piano and classroom music Ruth’s focus is on fostering a love of music while developing both practical and theoretical skills, adapting her teaching approach to suit the individual student. Whether the student chooses to work towards AMEB exams or not, they will be gently guided to discover the many aspects of piano playing, including learning a variety of musical styles, technique, theory, and how to express themselves musically. Opportunity to compose, improvise and perform, as well as learning to play written music through reading and/or by ear is given from the beginning, giving all students (including young beginners) the satisfaction of making music from their first lesson.
