Ryan Daunt

Hi, my name is Ryan Daunt and I've been playing drums for over 20 years, and performing and teaching professionally for over 15 years.

Drumming has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember, and I’ve built my career around performing, recording, writing and educating. I hold a Bachelor of Jazz Music (Honours) and have had the privilege of performing professionally in Europe, USA, and all across Australia. I’ve recorded for numerous artists and performed over 175 gigs last year alone.

Alongside performing, I’ve developed a deep passion for coaching and mentoring drummers—helping them refine their playing, practice, and performance skills so they can break through plateaus and unlock new levels of creativity, confidence, and freedom behind the kit.

My focus is on creating structured, personalised practice plans that are clear, engaging, and designed to deliver real results. Whether it’s strengthening fundamental technique, learning to improvise with confidence, or developing flow and musical expression, my goal is to equip drummers with the tools they need to progress faster and more effectively toward their goals.

What sets my approach apart is a balance between discipline and creativity. I believe practice should be structured but inspiring, giving you the technical foundation you need while leaving space for your individuality to come through naturally in your playing.

Accolades
Ryan recently graduated from WAAPA with a First Class Honours Degree majoring in jazz performance. He is endorsed by Bosphorus Cymbals, Protection Racket, and Pro Music Australia, has toured nationally and internationally (USA, Europe).
Ryan placed top 10 for Drumtek's Up and Coming Drummer Competition (2015, 2018), and has released two albums as band leader, Fragile Information (2016) and Essence (2021).
