Music Theory Tuition

I am passionate about encouraging young people to develop their vocal technique and love for music throughout their pre teen and teen years. Although it is not essential, students are encouraged to engage with piano or ukulele training to learn to accompany themselves while performing and broaden their musical theory knowledge in a practical and fun way.
I have 12 years teaching experience in private colleges across Perth teaching choir and individual vocal lessons to upper primary and high school students. I teach jazz, contemporary and musical theatre styles and develop warm up and technique programs for each student individually. I am also a classroom teacher with 3 years experience. This has broadened my knowledge of student learning and teaching techniques to help my individual students reach their potential. I am experienced in coaching students for school performances, auditions at WAAPA and community events and auditions and have seen many succeed in their future endeavours as musicians and music study. Students have also come to me with speech issues and low confidence. Singing lessons has helped them develop into confident and articulate young adults.

Adult students focus on correcting technique, developing vocal sound and broadening their musical tools for improvisation, harmonising and composing. Upon recommendation from Real to Reel Sound Productions I have coached their clients (local rock and pop musicians/singers) through live performance and studio recordings to better their technique. Local worship leaders have also sought after my help with technique issues for live performance, singing in harmony and live improvisation.
