Clarinet Lessons

I am a multi-instrumentalist, composer, multi-disciplinary artist and educator. My professional practice includes 27 years of playing, gigging and recording on guitar, woodwinds, piano, bass and drums as well as producing, arranging and songwriting. I have 15 years of teaching experience one-on-one and coaching ensembles.

I love to share my joy for playing with students of all ages and skill levels. Generally I will lead a student through standard pedagogy such as one of the widely available method books which will include technique, reading music, repertoire and some theory. I also love to include elements of a holistic approach that encompasses ear-training, good habit-making and taking pride in our creative practice. The clarinet requires very specific technique, embouchure and breathing and I believe if developed in conjunction with a practice of mindfulness can be a profound source of growth. I aim to show my students how to become independent learners and I encourage a dialogue with students around their goals so that they can get maximum value out of their lessons.
