Violin Lessons

Violin lessons are one-on-one and are available in 20, 30, 45 and 60-minute sessions. Using ideas and techniques from the Suzuki, Galamian and Rolland string pedagogy, Sam has developed a method which focuses on posture, tone and musical expression from the beginning of training.

As well as other teaching points, there is an emphasis on the thorough learning of the following:

The art of repetition in bite-sized chunks when practising, Engaging the mind while practising (concentration with intelligent decisions about what and how to practise), Cultivating a productive home practice environment, Establishing a regular and consistent routine of practice and Finding enjoyment in achievement as a result of hard work.

Sam Blaxland teaches violin and piano in Tamworth NSW, Australia. As well as tutoring in local schools in Tamworth, he maintains his own music studio. Sam is passionate about developing students of all ages with correct technique and a thorough understanding of music to allow freedom of musical expression.
