Composition Lessons

I am primarily active as a composer in the jazz and improvised music genres. I have experience writing for small to medium size jazz ensembles of varying instrumentations, as well as big bands - I have had music performed by Judy Bailey's Jazz Connection.

Tuition in this kind of composition would encompass theoretical components such as jazz harmony and voice-leading techniques, as well as the most efficient communication of often complex musical material to rhythm sections.
