Hi there and welcome!

I am Perth born, but have only just recently returned to my beautiful home city after over 20 years working in London. Outside of my role as teacher, I am a professional violinist. I performed full time with the UK's major ensembles for the past two decades. The London Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, to name a couple. I was a scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and a prize winner of the Royal Overseas League, Tunnell Trust and Park Lane Group competitions. My playing life is rich and varied, from recording film sound tracks at Abbey Road Studios, to Wagner at the Royal Opera House to backing stars at the Brits at the O2 Arena. Whatever your musical dreams, I can help you nurture them.

I am a fully qualified violin teacher with over 20 years experience teaching pupils of all ages, both privately and in schools. I held violin tutor positions until March 2022 at both Wycombe Abbey and Wycombe High Schools in the UK. I have recently been invited to guest teach at Wesley College in Perth. I will teach you from any level, including complete beginners. I will train students for AMEB/ABRSM/Trinity exams, GCSE/A-level (ATAR here), competitions, auditions and chamber music coaching. I hold a 100% exam pass rate. I also hold Working with Children and National Police Certificates here in Australia, and take regular educational training. I hold EDUCARE and NSPCC certificates from the UK.

I have a friendly, imaginative approach, with young children in particular, and adult pupils are most welcome. My teaching style is relaxed, but with a solid focus on sturdy technical foundations. I will listen carefully to your goals and come up with a tailor made programme to make them happen. My ultimate mission is to open up all of my students to the wonderful and endless possibilities that music making brings, and to instil a long term love for all things violin!

Call me for a free consultation lesson. Lessons are currently Covid compliant, with online Zoom lessons being offered as well.
