  • AMEB grade 8

I am currently a university aged student studying Medical and Health Science in my 2nd year at the University of Wollongong who has completed their AMEB 8th grade. I was in the talented music program at Mackellar Girls Campus on the northern beaches of sydney from 2010-2012. I have been playing clarinet for 12 years and have been teaching for the last 5. I attended the NSW annual state music camp in 2009, 2010 and 2013 along with participating in many other arts unit events. I have been involved in the Northern Sydney Symphonic Wind Ensemble and attended national and state competitions with Northern Youth Symphonic Wind which is a junior A grade and open B grade ensemble as a first clarinet. In April 2014 I came 2nd in the Australian National Band Solo Championships for junior b flat clarinet in Brisbane. I have had great success with preparing students for AMEB exams with students achieving B+ and above. I also enjoy teaching ensemble skills through the inclusion of duets in lessons and am focused on fostering a love for music in those not interested in exams with the help of fun pieces to motivate students to become more enthusiastic about their playing.
