My name is Sarah Ash, and I am a UK conservatoire trained violinist (completing my studies under full scholarship, and with scholarship from EMI) and have a BMus (Hons) degree, and a Masters in Violin Performance.
I have ABRSM Diplomas in both violin performance and violin tuition (as well as an MA in Performance), and teach from complete beginner to advanced with young children to mature adults. I teach from the ABRSM, Trinity, and AMEB examination boards, and have also coached students completing HSC Music 1, 2, extension, and IB. I teach in several schools including running String programs as well as my own private studio teaching.
Nothing gives me greater pleasure than inspiring and encouraging my students to strive to improve, and nothing is more rewarding than pride we both feel when they achieve this.
I teach classical violin performance with mainly 1 on 1 lessons (30mins/60mins), but I am also available to teach groups and also coach duo/chamber/small ensemble music.
I work with my students to create an individual plan for them, so whether you want to progress quickly through exams, or play for pleasure we can work out a plan together that will cater for your needs.
I have a broad experience playing within ensembles (including Welsh National Opera) and with renowned violinists and conductors including Maxim Vengerov and the late Sir Charles Mackerras. I can email a CV with more information if you require.
I teach from home, and currently reside in Hurlstone Park.
If you would like to ask me any other questions, or to enquire about having lessons please email or phone me.
