I am a musician and composer with over 15 years of musical experience. I began piano at age 7 and vocal lessons not long after. Then the clarinet came at age 11, which I played all through my schooling - alongside the piano. The flute came next, and is now my primary instrument. I am studying a Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium and wish to gain some more experience in the teaching scene. I can teach in a variety of styles and work to any student's needs. I can teach from beginner level all the way through to AMEB diploma level (AMusA), alongside teaching improvisation and alternative performance techniques. I am an advocate for modern/new music in the youth of today, and will gradually introduce this into the practice of your student; depending on the style of the student of course.
I have my own teaching studio, which doubles as a composition studio and recording space. I also teach at public venues in the CBD - contact me to discuss this.
Students should have their own instrument, and I will assist in the process of hiring or buying instruments if the student sees fit. Composition students should be aware that I use methods of both handwritten and digital composition - I will supply most resources for these lessons.
