Sean Renaud is a professional bassist and music educator from Denver, Colorado in the United States. He has performed professionally in a wide variety of music styles and venues. Classically, he has performed in the section of the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and as the principal bassist of the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra. He has performed professionally in the pit orchestra in an extensive number of musical theater productions, including Shrek the Musical, Chicago, Rent, West Side Story, Hairspray and Legally Blonde. Locally, Sean is on the casual double bass roster for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and performs with the corporate cover band McKenzie.
As an educator, Sean Renaud has taught private lessons on the double bass since 2009. His students have gone on to audition successfully for several regional honor orchestras and prestigious performing arts schools. In the Spring of 2013 he student taught, providing expert instruction to jazz bands, concert bands, orchestras and choirs, and continued to teach strings classes in Miami until 2014. In Adelaide Sean works with the South Australian Music Camp as the Senior Double Bass Tutor and maintains a private studio of upright and electric bass, cello and voice students.
Sean Renaud received a Master’s Degree in Musical Instrument Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music, and Bachelor’s Degrees in Music Performance and Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
