I am 18 year old aspiring musician with a passion for saxophone. I have been playing the sax for 9 years and I love the amazing music the sax is prominent in. Listening to these genres such as jazz, blues, classical, funk and rock inspires me to practice more.
Over my school career, I participated in concert bands as well as both junior and senior jazz/stage bands, where I was a frequent soloist. As well as this, I was a part of my school's symphonic wind ensemble and orchestra. Furthermore, in year 10 I was invited to be a part of the live band for my schools musical production. Currently I am an HSC music student, majoring in performance for both Alto and Tenor sax.
I give great credit of my love for sax to several teachers I had who inspired me to listen and discover what my instrument can do past school concert bands. Because of this, I am keen to inspire and pass on my acquired knowledge to new sax players. In my lessons we will go beyond the traditional teaching methods that lead many school-age sax players to quit. I teach Alto and Tenor sax and will teach your kids how to have their own unique sound and playing style, through them listening to sax players they like and taking a bit of each players style. In my lessons we will focus on mastering the basics as well as tone, intonation, simple improvising, learning songs and jazz standards your child is interested in as well as school band music.
Apart from teaching music, I also have experience teaching young kids, as I teach martial arts to primary school aged kids.
