A music studio with all female teachers. Specialising in nurturing the musical talents of young girls and women. A great fit for tweens, teens, women and girls who prefer and are more comfortable with a female teacher.

Rates are $40 for 30 min lesson
$50 for 45 min lesson

Sherry Rich is an Aria nominated musician with over 20 years experience as a performer/singer/songwriter in Australia and the US. 10 years working in Nashville as a published songwriter with songs placed in movies, TV and recorded by other artists. 13 albums. Toured Australia, US, NZ and Europe. Appearances on SBS TV show Rockwiz, Countdown Revolution, The Morning Show, Chicago House of Blues, The Bottom Line NYC to name a few. Has written with top songwriters in Australia and US including Paul Kelly, Garth Porter, Bob Dipiero, Tammy Rogers, Ashley Naylor.
Sherry lead the ukulele ensemble at Geelong Grammar School from 2012 to 2017 and is an active performer in several bands in Melbourne including the Mudcakes and the Grapes.
7 years in the music department at Victoria University and currently a lecturer at Australian Institute of Music.

Lessons are face to face at Newport studio or online via zoom.

Lessons are not overly concerned with learning to read or write music notation [unless students have those specific needs] but have an emphasis on singing and playing the guitar/ukulele for fun and working towards performances.
Flexible teaching style to fit students needs. Both popular and traditional songs will be covered. Prefer individual teaching situation but will also consider small groups or parent/child duos. . Working with Children card current.
