Hi! My name is Shuhei Lawson and I am a graduate of the QLD Con (Bachelor of Music in Performance) and alumni of the prestigious Australian National Academy of Music. I am currently working with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra as a tutti cellist.

In the area of teaching, I’m very flexible and happy to teach from any level! I can help with preparing for practical AMEB or Trinity exams, competitions and auditions. Many of my students have sat AMEB exams, passed high school and youth orchestra auditions. I have taught at many Brisbane schools including Samford Valley Steiner school, Gregory Terrace, Queensland Academy of Maths, Science and Technology/Creative Industries.

I’ve played with many ensembles/orchestras including some ensembles including Orchestra Victoria, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Tasmania Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Orava, Australian and Goldner String Quartets and many more!

I also have a great deal of experience competing in music competitions and eisteddfods. These include placing first in many of the Brisbane Eisteddfod’s and 2nd prize in the Enkor International Music Competition.

Over the years I have had the great honour of working with world renowned musicians domestically and internationally. These musicians included István Várdai, Guy Johnston, Goldner String Quartet, Pavel Fischer and Lars Anders Tomter.
