I have taught trombone, piano and theory to students ranging in age from 5 – any age in high schools, primary schools, specialist music schools and privately since 2008. Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of the individual students, and are taught in a caring and professional manner. I have experience tutoring students undertaking VCE music and as a result I have a thorough understanding of the VCE syllabi and AMEB exam course work.
Some professional background:
I have been performing and teaching music for around 15 years.
I completed a Bachelor of Music and an Honours Degree specialising in jazz and popular studies in 2012.
Part of the degree included an intensive course with study taking place at New York University, USA. This course's educators were some of the best jazz musicians in the world including Chris Potter, John Scofield, Dave Liebman, Kenny Werner, and many more.
I was contracted as a member of the show band on P&O Cruise Line’s Oceana.
I was chosen by Monash University to perform at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival with international artists such as Terence Blanchard, Mike Nock, and John Abercrombie.
I have experience recording in studio for the Channel 10 documentary ‘Love Your Sister’ soundtrack.
I have experience recording on an album with George Garzone (USA) under the record label Jazzhead.
I have held a jazz residency in the city for 3 years performing with a number of Melbourne based jazz musicians.
I have completed the ABODA conducting course covering 50 hours of conducting.
I currently teach one-on-one tuition as well as leading and conducting ensembles across two private schools in Victoria and feel very grateful I get to spend my days discussing a great love of mine.
These lessons can take place via Zoom or in person when available. Feel free to contact me for further information.
I'd love to hear you play.
