He passed both his Certificate of Music graduating with Merit and his Associate Diploma of Music, also graduating with Merit.
During this time Simon studied under significant teachers including Ike Issacs, Carl Orr, Dave Smith and Jeremy Sawkins. His principal studies involved all music styles, including a focus on jazz and improvisation techniques as well as finger board harmony and music theory.
Simon later studied electronic music with Robert Sasdov. This included midi recording techniques. Simon’s qualifications and experience in the electronics and engineering fields combined with his musical experience bring a great deal of expertise to any sound recording projects he undertakes. Simon has played lead guitar in various bands around Sydney including session work. He was the lead guitarist in ‘Green Room’, a blues/ jazz band and co-wrote and arranged the songs in their 1998 CD entitled “So Called Wisdom”.
