Our teachers, Germaine McCarthy and Jude Perl, are both highly qualified, professional singing teachers. They each have over a decade of performance experience with a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share with their students.

About Germaine McCarthy:
Possessing a passion for singing for as long as she can remember, Germaine began performing and recording at the age of 15. For over a decade Germaine has been a regular on the Melbourne music scene, having worked extensively as a lead and backing vocalist with various bands and musical projects.
Obtaining an Advanced Diploma of Popular Music Performance from JMC Academy, Germaine furthered her studies at RMIT University, completing a Bachelor of Arts (Music Industry) in 2006.
Germaine is a certified instructor for The Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA). She is required to attend regular training events and undergo annual testing to maintain her IVA Technique certification, ensuring that she is constantly at the forefront of the best in vocal tuition.
While enjoying a full time career in teaching Germaine still finds time to perform regularly with Melbourne based corporate band Heatwave. Her involvement in Heatwave has seen her perform at prestigious venues such as Federation Square, The Forum Theatre and Eureka Tower.
About Jude Perl:
Jude’s passion for music and performing was nurtured from an early age, starting piano lessons at just 7 years old. By the time she was 13, Jude had commenced her solo performance career, possessing a combined skill of singing and piano playing beyond her years. By the time she completed her Bachelor of Music (Jazz & Contemporary Vocals) from Monash University in 2012, Jude had already established herself as an accomplished singer, songwriter and musician.
Jude released her debut EP 3am in 2012, and her full length album Modern Times in 2016, with both releases available on iTunes and Spotify. Her recording career has seen her collaborate with industry greats such as Colin Hay (Men at Work) and Brian Paturalski (Outkast ‘Speakerboxxx/The Love Below’). Jude’s music is currently featured in the critically acclaimed body image documentary Embrace starring Ricki Lake and Mia Freedman, available worldwide on iTunes.
Branching out into stand up comedy in 2014, Jude received critical acclaim for her 2015, 2016 & 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows, winning the Green Room Award for ‘Best Original Songs’ back to back in 2015 and 2016.
Jude’s exceptional singing talent, teamed with her extensive experience in music performance and composition, equips Jude with an impressive wealth of knowledge to impart to her students.
