If you're looking for a well-rounded musician to help you foster and grow your musical skills, I'm the person for you!
Overall I can provide classical piano, music theory, and composition (traditional instrumental/vocal scoring, songwriting) lessons from a beginner to upper intermediate level, and to an early intermediate level for music production & audio engineering, viola, and vocal lessons. I also offer piano accompaniment services for any level instrumentalist/vocalist, and music production and mixing services for pop and electronic music. I am also able to compose commissioned standalone works as well as music for visuals and other cross-discipline media.
My philosophy regarding teaching is to supplement any practical skills with a healthy amount of theory and relevant contextual knowledge in order to maximise the student’s full musical potential. I also place a great emphasis on learning correct, safe technique from the very first lesson, forming good habits early on and enabling students to better focus on developing musical expression.
I have 15 years of piano playing experience and over a decade in classical piano training. My 6 years at the Conservatorium High School (Sydney, NSW) gave me the opportunity to learn with some of Australia's top piano, composition, viola, and vocal tutors. As well as this, I also performed regularly both at school and in major events, including singing alongside the Sydney Philharmonic Choir and Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House on numerous occasions. I graduated from the Conservatorium HS in 2016 with a Band 6 (92/100) in HSC Music 2 and an E4 (46/50) for HSC Music Extension, as well as an ENCORE nomination for my HSC Piano Performance.
My experience in teaching and accompaniment stems from high school, working with both small and large ensembles as a performer, conductor, and composer, as well as providing piano accompaniment for choral rehearsals and fellow students in performance workshops. Beyond high school I have taught students at beginner to intermediate levels of all age ranges, as well as accompanied students for VCE and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music examinations.
I moved to Melbourne to continue further studies in Interactive Composition after developing a love for composing for acoustic instruments early on in high school and delving into the world of electronic music, songwriting, and scoring for film almost immediately after. During my time at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music I composed numerous works spanning across many genres and cross-disciplinary collaborations. This includes writing, recording, producing, and engineering my own songs, as well as writing music for dance films, animations, theatre, web series, and video games.
