Hello
My name is Sorcha Albuquerque. I’m a qualified Guitar Instructor based in Fitzroy North
I hold a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Guitar Performance) from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and have been teaching guitar for over 10 years. I am currently a guitar teacher at The Josh Cohen School of Music.

As a freelance musician, I perform across a wide variety of genres including jazz, soul, pop, rock and contemporary and have performed with Harvey Sutherland, Adrian Eagle, Cookin on 3 Burners as well as notable musicians Jonathan Zwartz, Julien Wilson, Renee Geyer, Mark Wilson (JET) and Passenger.

I have toured nationally/internationally and played at notable venues such as The Basement, The Night Cat, Montreux Jazz Festival, Stonnington Jazz Festival, The Ellington Jazz Club, Venue 505 as a sideperson and leader, and have recorded my original compositions for ABC jazz

Other teaching credits include being a member of the Musicaviva in Schools group 'Zeeko' for past last 4 years, working one on one with EMI artist Kian, and serving as a mentor in the Young Women in Jazz program in WA and NSW.

I am passionate about teaching and I always aim to design lessons around my student's specific interests.

I teach all levels from beginner to advanced
chords, fingerstyle, TAB, rock, pop, jazz, folk, reading, music theory and composition.

Pricing: $80 p/h $90 if I travel to you.
