Spencer Wilson

Spencer Wilson is a newly returned Brisbane Jazz guitarist who's been living abroad and travelling since 2022. Playing music with people in Toronto, New York, Japan, and on sea as the resident guitarist for the pacific showband aboard the P&O Encounter cruise, Spencer has learned from musical circles across the globe.

Graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance in 2020, Spencer taught formally at 2 different Brisbane schools before leaving. Now that he's returned, he's looking to be a top educator and work full time as a guitar tutor and performer.

Professionally played and able to teach in the styles of Jazz, blues, rock, pop, funk, latin, and brazillian. Will accomodate all levels of playing from beginner to post graduate. Spencer has a passion for teaching and is eager to learn about what you want to achieve and will cater lessons around that.

Composition and Music Theory lessons also available.

Whether you're wanting to get into the Queensland Conservatorium, to get better for your band’s gigs, to simply learn your favourite song that doesn’t have any YouTube tutorials, or to get advice on understanding harmony and composition, Spencer can confidently lead his students towards their goals. Spencer's focus in lessons is in bringing out an innate sense of creativity and curiosity in each student through the study of the masters, as well as through the refinement of technique, rhythm, and comfort with the guitar.
