Our approach is centred around 5 key pillars:
Performance is the cornerstone of a musical education. We run monthly studio class and regular end of term concerts. This adds up to 12 extra performance opportunities per year.
There are no two students with the exact same needs, and as such No two students are the same. We tailor all of our lessons to meet each individual’s needs and goals, and provide each student a personalised learning plan at the start of every term.
QUALIFIED TEACHING ARTISTS
Our experienced staff have all completed tertiary studies in music. They each engage in a wide variety of other musical endeavours in their own professional practice. They are performers, educators, arts leaders, and entrepreneurs.
LISTENING AND EXPLORING
A student’s musical mind can only be developed through constant exposure to music. Teachers model performance in every lesson, students are given listening assignments, and our additional activities allow them to regularly hear their peers perform.
Being surrounded by excellence, but in a nonjudgemental and supportive environment, is an incredibly powerful tool for student motivation.
Rachel and Chris founded St Leonards Music Academy knowing that above all else, this community surrounding a student on their musical journey is the biggest differentiator in how far they will go. Our entire program has been built with this in mind. Between our studio classes, regular concerts, personalised learning plans, and dedicated teaching artists, students aren’t just having one lesson a week, they are joining a community that is solely dedicated to their musical success.
