I have been teaching Violin and Viola for over 25 years, mainly in the private school system in and around Melbourne and from my private studio in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. I have recently relocated to Tasmania and have set up my teaching studio in East Cam, just a few minutes from Burnie.
I thrive on the challenge that every student presents to me and enjoy teaching students of all ages, levels and abilities. I prepare students for exams from elementary to diploma levels in Violin and Viola and to Grade 6 level in Musicianship and Music Theory. I am also happy to assist students to play purely for their own pleasure and/or to explore different genres.
With the arrival on the scene of COVID, I commenced online teaching which proved to be very popular, especially in these difficult & very challenging times. Online lessons make learning a musical instrument accessible to so many more people. All you need to get started is a smart phone, tablet or computer & an internet connection &, of course, a Violin or a Viola! It's a great time for you start exploring the wonders of music - they are truly endless! - or to brush up on your Violin/Viola skills & revive that sense of pleasure & achievement that you once enjoyed. You'll wonder why it took you so long to get around to it! So, if you’ve always wanted to play these instruments but life’s demands kept getting in the way, take heart - it’s NEVER too late to start!
I am available for lessons on weekday afternoons and evenings and on Saturdays.
