Stephanie Yau - MMus (Performance Teaching) graduate teaching at STUDENTS' HOMES

Hi, I'm Stephanie, a piano teacher based in Perth with six years of teaching experience.

I teach children and teenagers from beginner to intermediate levels, including students preparing for AMEB and ABRSM examinations. Over the years, a number of my students have also participated in piano competitions and received awards in their categories.

I am experienced in the Suzuki Method and regularly teach using different method books including John Thompson, Bastien, Piano Adventures and Alfred's Basic Piano Library. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching approach and materials based on each student's age, personality and learning style.

My lessons focus on building strong foundations in note reading, rhythm, technique and musical understanding while helping students develop confidence and enjoyment in playing the piano. Whether a student is learning for examinations, competitions or simply for personal enjoyment, I aim to make lessons structured, encouraging and enjoyable.

I have experience working with young beginners and understand the importance of patience, consistency and creating a positive learning environment. Seeing students gradually gain confidence and become independent musicians is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.

I am currently accepting new students in Perth's southern suburbs, including Willetton, Bull Creek, Leeming, Riverton, Parkwood, Canning Vale and surrounding areas. Home visits may also be available depending on location.
