Jeremy Williams, Artistic Director
Jeremy has dedicated himself to training string players of all ages following a career that has involved performing with orchestras and ensembles, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Nash Ensemble and the Australian and Grainger String Quartets.
Previously Lecturer in Chamber Music, appointed Director of Strings in 2011 at the Tasmanian Concservatorium of Music in Hobart, Jeremy has built up a successful string department and regularly visits Hong Kong regularly training talented young string players.
Yuen Yum San Williams- Head of Junior Program
Yuen Yum’s early musical training took her halfway across the world from Hong Kong at age 12, when she won a scholarship to study violin at the Wells Cathedral School in England. After graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Yuen Yum embarked upon a successful performing and teaching career, running string programmes in London, Hong Kong and Sydney. With more than twenty years of teaching experience, Yuen Yum was Principal Music Educator at the University of Tasmania, where she directed an innovative string programme at the Conservatorium of Music. Yuen Yum specialises in early development for violin playing.
As a scholarship holder, Anita completed her undergraduate studies at the Australian Institute of Music, studying with Winifred Durie and later, Dr. Deborah Lander. During and after these studies, she worked as a freelance violist with a variety of ensembles including the Sydney Sinfonia Orchestra, the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
Anita has taught both viola and violin since her undergraduate studies.
