Sunni Rae

Hi! I’m Sunni Rae, a recent Bachelor of Music (Performance) graduate who will be commencing my Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree in 2024. I hold a position with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra and have participated in Melbourne Conservatorium ensembles, including Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber groups, and Early Music Ensembles. My passion lies in delivering quality musical education to children. In my pedagogical approach, I prioritise collaborative learning, personalised teaching methods, and the incorporation of mindfulness and relaxation techniques. I am comfortable teaching from AMEB, ABRSM syllabus, and providing preparations for auditions and VCE exams. Growing up with the Suzuki method has significantly influenced my teaching style. I believe that a music education, anchored in approaches like Suzuki, not only fosters musical skills but instils character, sensitivity, and discipline in children. My dedication centre’s around cultivating a love for music while actively contributing to the holistic development of aspiring young musicians.
