The Sydney Youth Jazz Orchestra, SYJO, is a non-profit association established for the encouragement of music. Specifically, through providing a framework of outstanding jazz ensembles for students and young musicians to rehearse and perform with. The lead conductor of bother groups is Saul Richardson.
There are currently two bands SYJO and SYJO2. SYJO2 is for school-aged musicians aged under 18 (high school and talented primary students welcome). SYJO is for school-leavers who can play well and are keen and prepared to commit to regular rehearsals. New members are welcome at any time subject to availability. Vacancies are usually posted online at www.SYJO.org and/or on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Sydney.Youth.Jazz.Orchestra/
