I have been teaching violin for over 15 years in Germany, UK, USA and Australia. From young beginners in small group lessons to advanced players in 1 on 1 settings, I teach with a focus on sound production, tone colors, technique and the enjoyment of making music. We learn to listen to intonation and develop the sense of rhythm. We also cooperate ear training, music theory, posture and confidence within the classes. If you have a child who is goal orientated and enjoys exams or if you are an adult who purely wants to learn the violin for fun, we can create a learning journey for all. Students in my studio have the chance to perform at studio concerts accompanied by professional pianists and feel a sense of achievement and pride in their learning. Behind each of my students is my encouragement for them to become their own musician and artist. I offer group classes and individual lessons, holiday programs and exam preparation. We learn how to practice properly, and play violin in a relaxed and comfortable way with others or on our own.
My approach has helped students with their concentration in school and their ability to focus longer, their problem solving in maths and their fine motor skills in writing. The methods that I teach have originated throughout my studies in London, Berlin, Edinburgh, Germany and New York City.
As I am currently an active violin performer in Australia, my students can see me play in classical and contemporary settings. I've been playing the violin since I was 5 years old, and teaching has always been a big part of my life.
Violin is my passion and to inspire others and help them improve on the violin adds purpose to my musical career. I am a warm and positive person and have coached on summer music camps, adjudicated music competitions and taught groups and individual lessons at schools and universities. I look forward to hearing from you!
