I am an experienced Piano Teacher located in Camberwell. I have taught piano for many years and teach a wide range of ages and abilities. Some of my students have started as fresh beginners with me as young as 3 years old, some are older school students looking to polish up their existing skills and others are adults or retirees wanting to learn piano for the very first time. I love teaching and watching students grow, no matter their age or skill level, to inspire them to further develop both their musical and technical abilities.
Lessons would be tailored around your individual goals and what you would like to achieve. We can play music games and learn songs for leisure for the younger students or for more advanced students, we can prepare for AMEB exams (Australian Music Examinations Board) to pursue longer-term goals.
There are many benefits to learning music which include:
- Builds self-confidence
- Relieves stress with relaxing music
- Helps brain function
- Improves fine motor skills
- Practices sustained attention and hand & eye coordination
My highest priority with teaching is always ensuring that students are enjoying themselves. This helps with maintaining motivation as this is the hardest part of learning piano! I am a patient, caring teacher who listens to your needs but I am also honest in providing suggestions and like to give my students a challenge where possible.
My experience also extends to teaching children with Autism Spectrum Disorder as I have completed training as a qualified ABA therapist through ABIA. I can accomodate to the child’s individual sensory or communication needs. In doing so, your child’s lessons will be more comfortable and successful.
I am happy to travel locally to your house for lessons for an additional travel fee.
