I am 18 years old, and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne. I am in Darwin until early March for my summer break, and I am hoping to give some lessons as a source of some holiday fun for your child!
I have been playing the violin since I was 8 years old, and I have completed a Certificate of Performance in Violin with AMEB. I am currently a member of the University of Melbourne Orchestra, and when I lived in Darwin I was a member of multiple ensembles, including the Darwin Youth Orchestra, the Advanced Chamber Ensemble, and Baroque Ensemble, all held by the Centre for Youth Music. On top of this, I created two additional corporate ensembles with some friends who were also at a high musical skill level. With these ensembles, I played at numerous weddings, receptions, and functions. In high school, I completed 3 units of Stage 2 (Year 12) Music, with high grades for all units. These units were Solo Performance, Ensemble Performance, and Music Theory. With my advanced level of music theory, I am able to help with any problems or queries your child has about the subject, whether it be for playing, or studying purposes. If any students are currently studying Music at high school, and would like some advice and coaching on how to achieve high grades in performance or theory, I would be more than happy to help.
Although I have only been teaching the violin for one year, I have had over 4 years of experience in tutoring/teaching children of ages ranging from 4-18, as I previously worked at Kumon, a tutoring centre for Maths and English. I also currently hold a valid NT Working with Children Card. I love working with children, and I believe that enjoying music is essential for learning and playing. I always ensure that my students receive quality learning time, while having fun doing it.
