Thomas is currently a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts student at Monash University, majoring in Classical Cello Performance. Prior to tertiary study, he has completed AMEB grading on violoncello and piano and has completed VCE music units 1/2,and 3/4. Thomas has an up-to-date Working With Children Check.
Thomas believes that an understanding of music built upwards, from the instrument at its core, is the best approach to music and ensures a relevant, engaging and creative approach to music, fostering a strong, enduring and independent future of music performance, creation and musicianship.
Implementing a pace of learning that is adaptable to each individual student in ensuring they don’t feel overwhelmed is also a important focus for me.
Music learning is as much of a journey as it may be a destination, enjoyable learning and practice for a student is the only way to foster a future of genuine appreciation and dedication to music performance and creation.
Another focus for me is also in music theory and ear training. These are integral skills for all music students as they create a deeper and more universal understanding of the music they play, and improve their overall musical ability.
