Piano Lessons

I have learnt from both the ABRSM and AMEB systems before and I am confident in teaching a variety of syllabus to suit the student (including for leisure). I have taught privately at my home studio for over 8 years, and previously led music programs at local primary schools and music centres in the Yarraville and Footscray area. Having completed my A.Mus.A at 16, and teaching ever since, I am a dynamic teacher that is missioned to make piano accessible to all kinds of keen learners.

It is imperative for me to promote a fun and entertaining musical journey for all my students and ensure that success is achieved through enjoyment. Over my years of teaching, there has never been a student who has not been able to blossom and achieve the goals they set for themselves in piano. My teaching ensures students walk away from every lesson confident, excited and enlightened about music as a whole - not just piano. My teaching philosophy is rooted in teaching music in a holistic way, and not measuring success purely through the instrument the student is enrolled in. I teach through music theory, music history, singing...to help students from all backgrounds understand why things are the way they are, so that one day they can become good teachers themselves if they choose to be.

My students are taught from an early stage to not only be good at what they play, but to also indulge and immerse themselves in the emotions and characteristics of music. I enjoy a vast variety of music and would love to teach a variety of styles and genres if you wish.

Students of all ages are welcome. I am equipped to teach from beginner to Certificate of Performance (AMEB) / ARSM level (ABRSM). Of course, if you're just looking to play for leisure and not pursue examinations, it'd be my joy to have fun in music with you too.

I have a lot of experience with Beginner learners and I can ensure that all my students will learn with a good foundation. Theory, General Knowledge and Technical skills will be taught from an early stage to ensure future ease and success in performance.
