TOMOMI MATSUO is an award winning flutist from Kagawa, Japan and has studied with some of the world's most renowned professors. She has both a Master of Music Performance (Orchestra) and a Specialised Master of Music Performance (Soloist) from the Zurich University of the Arts, as well as a Bachelor of Music Performance from the Tokyo University of the Arts (GEIDAI).

In between her degrees, Tomomi studied with Trevor Wye for two years (author of countless instructional books including the popular Practice Books for the Flute). Her time studying with him has influenced her teaching method, incorporating elements that traces all the way back to Marcel Moyse’s teaching, whose influence has shaped the development of all the most respected flute players in the world today.

​Having performed and taught all around the world, Tomomi is now based in Sydney, Australia and is a substitute player with the Opera Australia Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
