Tony Gao

Tony is a classically trained pianist with over 10 years of teaching experience in Melbourne. He holds a Master’s degree in Piano Performance Teaching from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK. He teaches students of all ages, including adults, and many of his students have achieved top results in exams and competitions. Tony focuses on building strong technique and musical listening skills, helping students play with better sound and expression—not just through repetition, but through thoughtful, goal-oriented practice. He tailors each lesson to the student’s interests, making learning enjoyable, rewarding, and inspiring.
