My life as a violinist began at age 3 with the Suzuki Method. Raised in a house with a parent as one of Australia's first wave of Suzuki teachers, I was mentored closely as a young start-out teacher in 1995.
I completed all 12 Suzuki graduation levels by 1996, received band 6 results for violin performance in the HSC in 1998, went on to earn a Bachelor of Music in 2002, a Master of Teaching (music) in 2005 and am currently working towards completing a Diploma of Suzuki pedagogy.
With 25 years of face to face teaching and professional development, families benefit from my ability to guide children through the repertoire pieces with clear teaching cues, nurturing encouragement and fun! A student learns best when they are inspired, confident and supported well.
My full time private studio runs weekly lessons concurrent with state school terms. I prepare students thoroughly for a full studio concert in Term 2, and hold highly anticipated violin group lessons based on age (rather than level of progress) for a social interaction between children that is remembered excitedly year round.
There is currently some availability in my studio on weekdays from 3pm. New students are encouraged to observe the lesson of a similarly aged child before commencing their own weekly lessons. Observation is free of charge.
Contact me via text or email as I'm unable to respond to phone calls while teaching. Questions and enquiries are welcome.
