Tracy graduated from the VCA - Melbourne University with Bachelor of Music in Performance (Honours) in 2004 and gained her Master of Music in Performance-Research at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2009. Tracy is an active violin performer and a dedicated teacher.
Tracy won the 1st prize at Kocian International Violin Competition 1994 in Prague. In 2002, Tracy was awarded the International String-Player Award and was placed second in the Gisborne International Music Competition in New Zealand.
Tracy led the Viva String Quartet and won the 1st prize in the Open Age String Quartet Competition at MacDonald's Performing Art's Challenge 2003. She founded the Sapphire String Quartet in 2006 which was selected to perform for the APEC Summit at the Sydney Opera House on the 8th September 2007.
Tracy Wan has been a member of the Australia Opera and Ballet Orchestra since 2007 and was invited to perform with the Macau Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions.
Her teaching experience includes assistant to Alice Waten, the then Head of Strings at the Australian Institute of Music; providing violin and ensemble tuition at Leichhardt Primary School, Lindfield Public School, Denistone East Public School, Waverley College, Reddam House and Newington College. She frequently tutors in music camps and youth orchestras. She was an exam marker at the Wesley Institute. Tracy is currently teaching at St Andrew's Cathedral School and Roseville College. Students ranging from beginners to 8th grade. Her Roseville College string quartet was this year's prize winner at the Sydney Eisteddfod. Tracy recently tutored the Sydney Youth Orchestra for their major performance at the Sydney Opera House.
