Trea is an active teacher and performer based in Melbourne / Eastern Suburbs. She teaches trombone at all levels from beginner to advanced, and is an experienced teacher of most other brass instruments including trumpet, euphonium and tuba. Can teach tenor, bass and alto trombone.
Performance experience includes solo recitals, symphony orchestra, brass ensemble, trombone quartet, brass quintet, trombone ensemble, and more, Trea has recently spent time working with electronic music, jazz ensembles, rock bands, and exploring ethnic musics from around the world. Trea plays Principal Trombone in Melbourne Opera and is a member of several active chamber groups.
Trea has trained and performed across Australia, China, North and South America, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Italy and Germany, both as a soloist and ensemble musician, in projects incorporating many different genres and styles. As a keen educator, she has mentored high school and young university students both abroad and at home. Education and collaboration are at the core of her professional work.
